Profile: The Center
for Educational Technology (CET) is an NGO dedicated to improving the
education system in Israel. CET\'s 35 years of extensive activity has
provided it with the experience for developing and implementing
technology-rich content and teaching-learning-evaluation environments.
CET employs about 250 people, most of whom are experts with advanced
academic degrees.
Products &
Technologies: CET was the pioneer in bringing computer systems to
schools in the 1970\'s, and later specialized in developing educational
computer software. At present, CET is dedicated to the development of
web-based innovative products: it flagship is Ofek (Horizon)
– an innovative integrated web-based multimedia system for
Instruction, Learning and Assessment (ILA).
Target Markets: CET
web-based educational products are universal and can suit any education
system. The emerging Far East market is our current target.
Brief
description of proposed R&D project:
CET proposed R&D project is in the
realm of gaming in the fields of Mathematics and Science. The idea is
to develop 3D simulation (Sims like environment) virtual reality
environment engine for learning games in the main universal subjects
matter – Math and Science. The pedagogy of the games will be
based on the development of higher order thinking, critical thinking,
problem solving and creativity – the most important skills of the
21st century. The learning process and methodology will based on
interactive and attractive tasks and assignments and will enable single
and multi-player options to provide a flexible learning environment.
The engine will enable the customization and adjustment of the content
according to curricula and culture and thus be adapted to diverse
markets.
Desired
Profile of R&D Partner and its role in the proposed R&D
project:
The desired profile of R&D partner
for the proposed project is a partner specialized in 3D graphics and
animation and multimedia (i.e. the incorporation of audio and video).
Such a partner will enable us to develop a high level pedagogical
product in the \"language\" of today\'s children and youth.
Another partner we seek is in the realm
of marketing. We will need to market the product and in the Far East
market and thus we seek a partner with strong hold in education and in
the neighboring countries.
